POETRY INFUSION by me.

WAS IT ALWAYS THIS SIMPLE?

Now a light cover falls over my shoulders,
Invisible maybe but protecting and insulated,

I had it on before i left, like a grateful arc,
That keeps you dry when warm rain falls,

I stepped out briefly on my toes,
A single drop fell to my eye, I blinked and it was gone,

What you want is not always what you need.

I'm not even grazed nor bruised this time,
Instead, I watch from underneath, content.

I think I even saw a rainbow.

MEANT TO BE ?

It's late, i am meant to be asleep but , i'm not.

I'm meant to be more aren't I ?
meant to be yours , aren't I ?

If she wasn't there, is she?
whispering words in your ear, is she?

Then would we be, would we?
could we be, could we?

you see it's late, so late
and my soul has just risen

it talks to me of fate
of times i've forgiven, i think

it speaks of things i should forget
but my fucking soul has risen

but i should be grateful, i should
my silence is not golden
it doesn't bring me completion
it doesn't show me the way, to where?

It reminds me it's missing
it's friend, it's light, it's substance

Do you understand, do you?

WARS OF THE HEART

Eyes drawn down
like a fortress,
A thousand men in battalion ,
The fiercest tiger and savage beast,
such restraint i summon.

Ears punctured and burst
by their marches,
Roars and cries by
animals,they bleed,
All of my gusto i will me

Voice shrunken and still
It is lost now,
Long forgotten by times far from these

A woman of yours I once stood,
Now blind, deaf and dumb on her knees.

FINGER PLAY

I remember your taste
what did we say?
like a fruit of some sort i think

your fingers were eager
they polished and shone
when they'd finished

your arm long and brown
like a snake wove me round
i liked to not breathe
next to you

you laughed when it ended
your blue dreams all shaken
caught in my web
you caught yourself there

hair blended red black
skin melting to amber
pour it down on me
the small of my back

I wanted a man to light my cigarette
when it was over.

WOUNDS DEEPEN WITH TIME

I cannot scratch you from me
for it is i who would bleed

I cannot cover you with water
for it is i who would drown

I cannot rip at your eyes
for it is i who would be blinded

You took me when i was young
you took me when i was young

You cannot bind my wrists
for it is you who would not feel

You cannot cut my heart out
for it is yours that would cease to be

You cannot strip me from you
for it would be yourself you would tear

I took you when you were young
I took you when you were young

and here we stay
and here we stay

AN ODE TO HIM

He swept me up with cradled arm
the sun is cool against his touch

He sat me on a throne up high
the top of the mountain he kept me

The clouds billowed like my dress
and encircled me in soft harness

He brought me rain to quench my thirst
And flowers for my feet of white

He painted my toes with the redest rose
and took thorn to finger for my lips

He sang to me with soothing voice
like the lake before me still

He sat me on a throne up high
and there he keeps me.
