Beautiful Environments make beautiful pictures no?

I wanted to share something, whenever i sell a photograph 10 trees are planted through my partnership with TREES FOR THE FUTURE . It's something i believe in, something we should, as people of this planet be part of. I wont preach because its not my place but without doubt a little can and does go a long way. Anyone can set up an account towards helping this environmental issue. Why not have look at the link and see what you think.

Hello Stranger

I have kept this blog of mine private for a long time and have recently decided to open to you, the public...ahem. Yes, this is a photography blog, aptly named " Affairs of the lens " ( my own personal love affair with an inanimate object ( not sure that is the right word, i am sure my camera breathes ) anyway, that this spectacular invention has this insane ability to capture and share everything i want it to ) but this blog, it is not just for photographers, but for the artist in us all, be it lying dormant, or wide awake. Unleash your inner artist and have a creative outlet that makes life that little more worth living. If you read backwards, you will indeed see I am in love with taking photographs....my stomach as i write has several butterflies doing their thing. I have been lucky enough to have been noticed, that people around the world have my images on their wall...All i hope is, that when they look at them, it brings them as much pleasure as it did me to take them.
Until next time.
Regards, LJA x
I while ago I made a giant collage of a selection of my photography.
I keep them in my house for inspiration, of the places I have been and those I have yet to go.
Pay a visit to my website to see them clearer.

Exhibition

I HAVE BEEN KINDLY INVITED TO EXHIBIT MY WORK AGAIN AT THE ARTS FESTIVAL, THEY WILL SHOWING FOR A MONTH I WAS ALSO INVITED TO GIVE A TALK ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHS WHICH WERE TAKEN IN NEW YORK,ROME,FLORENCE, BELGIUM,VIRGINIA, IRELAND AND WASHINGTON DC. IT WAS WONDERFUL AND WELL RECIEVED. LIFE IS GOOD..AND MY WORK IS GETTING GOOD RECOGNITION.
THEY ARE STILL FEATURED ON SET FOR CBS "BLUE BLOODS".
BE WELL. LJA X
I wrote this a while ago during another Exhibition. It stands true, but this time ... no one expected a theme. I was invited to show my work and that is what i did, I chose 19 that I felt strongly about, what has sold well over the years and that is all...

"Hello ... I had a Photography Exhibition fairly recently ..and although i am new to Blogspot i have blogged before-
I want to thank all those who supported me who may read this--although i am sure they can't keep up with all this!

So, Thank you very much indeed.

I am very pleased to share with you that all pieces from this exhibition found new homes.
The feeling this brings me is one i will never lose.

It was an interesting process putting together a selection of photographs, there are ' rules' to how one must match things or there MUST be an element running through them.
Although i do understand aestheticaly this may be important there is however an element of freedom being taken from it. Even in art one must obey the unwritten laws.

For instance, one could consider they are seeing certain ' themes' because they are black and white images, perhaps before colour film was invented themes ran far more smoothly.

I have the desire to make sense of a 'collection', looking at each individually, people do not always need things explained to them or else they would explode in a ball of confusion.
A story is interesting , but like with a song with no words, it will evoke enough emotion through the  silence of explanation.

Artistic expression on all levels of sub/consciousness is all that matters.

I am  really looking forward to future travels and further shows.

LJA Photography - Affairs Of The Lens: RISE WITH THE BIRDS

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubGBUUDWQ3g

I have been without my lenses for a few months as on a shoot they took a tumble and were sent ( the other side of the world it seems ) to be resurrected ! I collected them yesterday, however :)
In the meantime, I have been fiddling my thumbs, but the other day whilst driving I saw a beautiful site above me, so I grabbed a video camera and made a little shot a cpl minutes of film.

Hope you like it x
